4 Common Cosmetic Surgeries
Plastic surgeries are becoming more common with each passing year, and according to reports, there are about 18 million surgical procedures that take place in the country every year. Now, many people are interested in making adjustments to how they look, and cosmetic surgeries are a great solution to get what you are looking for in this regard. Here are four of the most common cosmetic surgeries to know about:
1. Breast augmentation
Breast augmentation is generally done to enhance or alter the appearance of the breasts. Studies show that over 300,000 procedures are done annually in the country for the surgical enlargement of women’s breasts. This type of surgery is done for multiple reasons. It could be done for replacing a breast that is missing; enlarging both breasts; or even to make breasts, which are naturally asymmetrical, equal. Also, many women choose to undergo this surgery if their breasts have not developed during puberty.
2. Liposuction
Liposuction is a surgical procedure that removes fat from specific places in the body. This helps in attaining a slimmer form. There are many kinds of liposuction, two of which are tumescent liposuction and ultrasonic-assisted liposuction. Tumescent liposuction involves a saline solution that helps in constricting the blood vessels, and a numbing agent is used for the area that requires treatment. In the case of ultrasonic-assisted liposuction, a cannula is responsible for releasing ultrasonic energy, which results in the melting of the fat that can then be suctioned out of the body.
3. Abdominoplasty
Abdominoplasty, which is also commonly known as a lower body lift, refers to the removal of excess fat in the abdominal area. Once this fat is removed, the remaining skin in that region is tightened. Ideally, this surgery is meant for those who have excess skin hanging from their abdominal areas. Often, women opt for this surgery after giving birth.
4. Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty, or in simpler words, a nose job, is any alteration in the appearance of the nose. It can be done for both cosmetic and medical reasons; while some do it to change the shape or positioning of their noses, others do it to alleviate breathing problems, structural abnormalities, chronic allergies, nasal inflammation, and more.
